Football: Nîmes winner in Nancy (3-1), goal from Crocos … and bonuses!

This Saturday, April 30, in the name of the 36th matchday of Ligue 2, Nîmes Olympique won at the red lantern Nancy (3-1). Thanks to his goalkeeper, Lucas Dias, surprising starter author of 8 saves, to the Senegalese connection (two goals and an assist for Moussa Koné, achieved by Sidy Sarr) and to the Swedish-Brazilian paw of Eliasson (two offers).

Lucas Dias (vote: 8/10) : 8/10, like the number of his stops on the Marcel-Picot meadow. Holder of the surprise (a sign with respect to next season, tendency not to exercise the option to purchase Pekko Bratveit), he is no longer the black cat: it is his first win in ten pro tenures with Nîmes Olympique (2 draws and 7 defeats so far, L1 and L2 combined). It took a penalty to deceive his vigilance, after beautifully rejecting, among others, a shot by Biron (48 °) that we saw at the back of the net. Goalkeeper No. 1 next season? “I’m ready and I’m a candidate”, he put it on him. In any case, Nancy was “the best in the field”, as Pekko Bratveit told us when he left the stadium!

Patrick Burner (5) : makes Ciss hit (3rd, for the head on the crossbar of Biron), symbol of his overall lack of defensive aggression. More and more serious as the game progressed, he became bolder in attack but made no difference. Out for Leon Delpech (79th), who did not show up.

Kelyan Guessoum (5) : less prominent than his partner in the central defensive axis Mbow, but sober and serious, as in this comeback against Biron (57th). Some imperfections the same in the first period, like this defensive header misdirected in the first period, or this duel lost in front of El Aynaoui, which cost him 6/10. Replaced by Nao Ueda (62 °), quiet behind.

Moustapha Mbow (5) : good, when he takes (many) balls with his head and when he cuts many trajectories of passage Lorena. And at least well, when he loses concentration: he is preceded by Biron, in the air (bar, 3rd) then on the ground (25th). Above all, he caused the penalty of the ASNL equalizer, due to Ngbakoto (61st). Supplied by Anthony Briançon (62 °), booked less than ten minutes later. Then he attacks: he offers himself an offensive incursion (blocked shot, 90 °) and close to the advantage of … Koné on the 3rd goal, from a corner kick!

Gaetan Paquiez (6) : once not customary left side, captain croco held his lane well and took over his coaching status. He thwarted several attempts by Lorraine. In defense, it was where it needed to be.

Scotty Sadzout (5) : as in Quevilly-Rouen (1-0), he made his debut as a left midfielder (rather offensive), then alternating with Eliasson on the right wing. Little in sight, he distilled a couple of centers and tried a scissor (55 °), without success. Pablo Martinez replaced him (62nd), and is behind the action of Gard’s second goal.

Sidy Sarr (6) : Santa Sidy! With a goal from elsewhere, certainly from Senegal, the 25-year-old midfielder scored his first goal for Nîmes after 2,628 minutes of play, in all competitions (44th). Before this personal feat he had often been late, overtaken by the Lorraine rhythm, as in this dangerous contrast on Delos (admonition, 16th). Re-launched by coach Nicolas Usaï on his arrival in January, he had again disappeared from circulation for a month. “He’s a guy with whom I was strict, for normal reasons his coach made us slip away. I talked and warned the group when he reinstated him.”

Julien Ponceau (5) : has increased in power over the course of the game. Canceled and dominated for the first time in midfield in the first 45 minutes, in the second half he was increasingly present and dominant.

Niclas Eliasson (7) : two assists, against (64 °) then on a corner (90 ° + 2) for the Swedish-Brazilian, whom Moussa Koné can thank. In fact, they thanked each other: eleven days ago, in Quevilly-Rouen, it was the Senegalese who served the left-handed. Eliasson made a difference at the end of the game. He has 7 goals and 5 assists this season in the league. Satisfying.

Moussa Koné (8): two goals and an assist for the center forward: what more could you ask for? Defensive efforts: make them now. “He has played full matches for a month,” said his he coach. If he was unsuccessful in collective play during the first half hour, he was decisive before half-time, serving his compatriot Sarr for the lead. With 11 goals, he became the top scorer of Nîmes, ahead of Yassine Benrahou (10). And he just signed his second assist in eleven days. He hadn’t done it for two years with NO before …

Elias Omarson (6) : Icelandic ended the season well. He is on his feet, and is at the origin of the first crocodile goal, when, in the position of overflowing winger, he finds Sarr on axis. The Icelandic player weighed and held the ball better than usual. Splendid half volley made by the former Nîmes Baptiste Valette (45th). Complementarity with Koné is refined … a little late.

Nicolas Usai (coach, 7) : it becomes a habit, he had still amazed in the composition of his team, with Dias in the cage, Paquiez on the left, Sarr in the middle and the trio of expert defenders Martinez-Ueda-Briançon on the bench. Decisive Dias and Sarr, the entrance of the trio per hour gave a defensive tone and stabilized the team. Also thanks to him “we have found the cohesion behind which we had been running for some time” …

The Nîmes collective (7) : with an average age of 24 and no 30 as a starter, he suffered a lot at the beginning, but managed to turn his back and reverse the course of the game. With “cohesion”, therefore.

Bartolomeu Varela (referee, 6) : half penalty whistled in favor of Ngbakoto, half penalty not whistled in favor of Koné. Two controversial decisions but without manifest error.

The Marcel-Picot stadium (behind closed doors, 6): it will undoubtedly be the most beautiful stadium of the national team. Behind closed doors this Saturday after the incidents that occurred during Quevilly’s reception.

Old crocodiles (7) : Rhône Gardois Antonin Bobichon managed Nancy’s play and set pieces well. He was the metronome of the Lorraine midfield. Baptiste Valette can’t do much for Gard’s three goals. It was a pleasure to see them again.

The ball (6) : a quarter of an hour from the start of the game, it almost ended up on the computer of the special correspondent of Midi Libre, who went down by reflex to the Dias! Otherwise, he has been on the ASNL network three times, so that’s okay!

The hinge of the bench (7) : Martinez and Briançon have never stopped encouraging and motivating. At the hour (62 °), their entry, and that of Ueda, make the difference, Nîmes, five behind, less endangered in the end.
