Chaired by the Crown Prince of Dubai, the High Committee aims to help shape the future of artificial intelligence (AI) by investing in the metaverse and building partnerships to advance Dubai’s digital economy.
Commenting on the launch of the High Committee, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s forward-thinking vision has cemented Dubai’s status as a leading global hub for innovative new concepts and disruptive business and technology models by implementing advanced technologies in sectors. vital to improve people’s living standards.
Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai is a global test bed for technology and future business models aimed at creating new economic opportunities, making Dubai a hub of the global digital economy.

The members of the High Committee for Future Technologies and the Digital Economy are the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, the President of the Dubai Chamber of the Digital Economy and the vice-chairman of the committee, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama; the Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Helal Saeed Al Marri; Dubai Digital Authority Director General Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori; the CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, Khalfan Belhoul; Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Dubai Chamber of the Digital Economy Ahmed Bin Byat; Malek Al Malek, chief executive of the Dubai Development Authority; The Director General of the DIFC Authority Arif Amiri; and the commission’s general rapporteur, Maha Al Mezaina.
The Committee will design policies and analyze trends in the digital economy and future technologies, including Metaverse, AI, Blockchain, Web3, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Internet of Things (IoT), Data Center and Cloud computing in Dubai. The committee will oversee the implementation of strategies related to the digital economy and future technologies in Dubai.
The committee will work to identify future skills needed for digital sectors and advise economic sectors on the digital economy. The committee will also monitor the performance of the digital economy and ensure its contribution to the Dubai economy lives up to global benchmarks.
The committee also plans to attract international companies and conferences specializing in future technologies and the digital economy. In addition, it will establish strategic partnerships with entities working in the field of the digital economy around the world.
Sheikh Hamdan launched the Dubai Metaverse Strategy to position Dubai among the top ten metaverse economies in the world. The strategy aims to make Dubai a global hub for the metaverse community and build on Dubai’s success which has attracted over 1,000 blockchain and metaverse companies. It also promotes Dubai’s ambitions to support more than 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030. This would further strengthen Dubai’s economy and support the UAE government’s vision of increasing the current number of blockchain businesses five times.
