Ecobank Group launches the 2022 edition of its Fintech Challenge with $ 50,000 in cash prizes up for grabs

Pan-African banking group Ecobank has launched the fifth edition of the Ecobank Fintech Challenge and invites fintech entrepreneurs in Africa to participate in the competition.

Fintechs that align with the Bank’s strategic goals can win a cash prize of $ 50,000 for the first winner and have the opportunity to collaborate and implement their solutions in Ecobank’s 33 African markets.

To participate in the Fintech Challenge, fintech companies and developers from any of the 54 African countries, as well as Africa-focused international fintechs, should visit: Applications are open until September 16, 2022.

Following the finals and awards ceremony in October 2022, five finalists will enter the Ecobank Fintech Fellowship program.

Furthermore, all Fellows will be able to explore the following possibilities with the Bank and its partners:

  • Global Product Launch: An opportunity to further collaborate with Ecobank and potentially launch products in all or part of Ecobank’s 33-country Pan-African network.
  • Partnership with service providers: Ecobank can select fintech as a pan-African service partner within the Bank’s network.
  • Access to Ecobank’s Pan-African Banking Sandbox: Fellows will have access to Ecobank’s APIs to test and improve their products for the Pan-African market.
  • Priority access to Ecobank’s venture capital partners for fundraising.
