Starbucks joins forces with Polygon to enhance its major NFT project

Starbucks is the largest and most popular coffee and beverage company in the world and today Starbucks is planning to launch its latest Web 3.0 initiative in partnership with the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain and will be launched very soon. “Odyssey”: this is the name of this NFT-based customer loyalty program, created by Starbucks, in collaboration with Polygon. For now, interested customers will need to sign up for the platform’s waitlist, but if you’re interested, here’s what you need to know.

Odyssey: what is it?

Brady Brewer, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the coffee giant in the United States, said leveraging Web 3.0 technology will allow its members to access experiences and properties that weren’t previously possible. Starbucks Odyssey will transcend the core benefits Starbucks Rewards members have come to appreciate and unlock Starbucks exclusive digital, physical and experiential benefits.

Starbucks Odyssey: What Are the Benefits?

Since the goal of this new platform is to earn and retain customers, the user experience is a focal point of this program. Brewer said Starbucks’ existing rewards ecosystem will be integrated into Odyssey and the goal is to provide customers with an immersive and engaging coffee experience that celebrates cultural heritage and provides a sense of community unity. In short, everyone wins!

How to use Starbucks Odyssey?

Starbucks said in an official press release that current Starbucks Rewards members can log into the Odyssey platform using their existing login credentials and, once logged in, can engage in “Starbucks Odyssey Journeys”. Starbucks Odyssey Journeys offers a variety of activities, such as interactive games, fun challenges, and information on coffee and Starbucks, as well as other engaging activities. You may think of rewards as collectible stamps and their value may increase over time.

Note that after completing Odyssey Voyages, members will receive a collectible Digital Voyage Stamp, which is an NFT, as a reward. As you can see, big companies are moving at the pace of the web3 and things are getting better and better. You will have to wait a while before you can benefit from this experience in France. Finally, we also know that it will be on Polygon’s Layer2Polygon network that Starbucks will be developing its NFTs very soon, because the project is progressing well.
