Universities offer blockchain-focused courses

Faced with the growing enthusiasm for blockchain, universities have started offering courses on the topic. Increase university education in crypto, blockchain and DeFi. At the same time, technology companies such as Flux lend their support to this type of initiative, reclaiming the legitimacy of this still too marginalized universe.

Universities: integrate blockchain technology into courses

Even if the blockchain and all the technologies connected to it start making their way, mass adoption will not be immediate. Web3 continues to evolve, but many still ask questions: is it a real revolution or just a fad? Without an answer, current Web2 users are reluctant to take the plunge. This gap in blockchain knowledge is among the barriers preventing mass adoption of the technology.

Faced with this observation, American universities have taken the initiative to form a coalition with a specific goal: to make the blockchain ecosystem more accessible. Formed in 2021, this coalition dubbed the University Blockchain Alliance (UBA) was initially made up of five Illinois universities. The alliance now has a hundred universities in 16 countries and 5 continents. UBA offers programs and opportunities to develop relevant skills.

Facilitate and democratize access to the blockchain

FluxLabs, the research center of the technology company Flux, decides to partner with the University Blockchain Alliance. The idea remains mainly to support the effort of universities to facilitate students’ access to blockchain technology. Flux is a decentralized Web3 cloud infrastructure founded four years ago. The company is building an entirely new paradigm for decentralized cloud computing. This by offering a complete suite of decentralized IT services and blockchain-as-a-service solutions.

Blockchain is increasingly investing in universities.

By partnering with blockchain companies, universities have more access to resources. While still limited, this type of partnership paves the way for the democratization of a Web-centric university curriculum3. As part of this collaboration, UBA student members will learn how to leverage the resources available in the ecosystem to develop a decentralized world. They will also discover all the advantages of Web3 over traditional Web services.

Understand the extent of the potential of this technology

A successful blockchain company in the market is able to expose college students to the true potential of this game-changing technology. The latter has become a tool for digital transformation in several sectors, including finance. DeFi (decentralized finance) offers the possibility of low-cost, peer-to-peer, near-instantaneous and borderless transactions. It also facilitates opportunities to use, access, verify, update and develop financial services.

Beyond finance, Web3 has rebuilt the basic infrastructure of various industries, such as the arts sector, but also education. On this last point, decentralized technologies allow, among other things, to set up a better teaching-learning process. By unlocking the potential of technology with tools like AI, Metaverse blockchain, and IoT, Web3 will simplify access to the knowledge pool. The blockchain also guarantees time savings and generalized and decentralized access to education.

Blockchain is poised to revolutionize the education sector by infusing advanced technological resources into traditional universities. The ecosystem promises to provide streamlined access to information without any interference from third-party authorities.
