“Blockchain will rapidly change HR processes”

Le Journal du Net is a partner of the Mastercard Innovation Forum 2022, scheduled for December 8 in Paris. Author, Web3 specialist and host of MIF 2022, Jérémy Lamri reveals to the JDN his vision of the consequences of the decentralized web in companies.

Jeremy Lamri. There are several aspects. First Business: For example, there are more and more businesses selling NFTs, across many very different industries. Then, on the virtual reality side, there are also increasingly immersive experiences and therefore many tools for creating. Finally, there is Web3 in the company, which particularly concerns employee training and work. Among the topics that are on the rise, for example, we can talk about the certification of blockchain skills, or the safety of digital safes to keep payroll. Blockchain is coming quite quickly in HR. Little is known, but the government is already registering state degrees in the blockchain.

And the metaverse?

By 2025, we will start to see some exciting things happen thanks to the evolution of technologies and the convergence of artificial intelligence, blockchain and virtual reality. From there, the gear will have reached maturity with more ergonomic and less heavy helmets. And uses will come. So far we have only reproduced our daily life in the metaverses. However, anything is possible in a virtual universe! So when we start doing original and useful things in these universes that we can’t do in the real world, the uses will develop. Since it’s still a gadget for now, let’s stay in Second Life.

What will be the next steps?

Augmented virtual reality has much more interesting short-term potential. It is already used in training, to work on the right gestures in the nuclear industry, to learn to fly an airplane… By adding artificial intelligence, we will see scenarios appearing like glasses that make an interacting teacher appear. Or a teacher present in augmented reality who will reproduce a form of presence. Pedagogical engineering will evolve and many uses will appear in education. For example, Meta and Microsoft communicate a lot about what they do in surgery: the surgeon has AR glasses with a hologram that accurately shows the gestures he has to perform. Technological advances will make it possible to adapt these experiences to all sectors. All this will happen faster than a virtual universe, for the time being limited to sharing a powerpoint.

And even ?

Blockchain will rapidly change HR processes, whether in payroll administration, skills management and CVs. Tomorrow, an employer or school will be able to certify an employee’s skills or skill building blocks in a blockchain. And this certification will be invaluable to this employee’s future employers. There may also be a tactical aspect to choosing your employers based on the recognition of the skills they can bestow.

Another evolution of Web3, AI will allow content to be created from real-time data analysis. Tomorrow is the machine that will create content for us, content out of our minds, texts, audio, images… We will be able to create recruitment tests, but also new forms of communication to promote inclusion. It’s a new generation of the internet where content creation will be done differently.

New functions that will also lead to the birth of new professions…

Absolutely. In my opinion, four large families will emerge: the immersed, those who will work in Web3, such as salesmen, real estate agents, etc. Designers, those who will build these universes, i.e. developers or architects who will think up the physical and moral rules. This is the category of trades arriving today. The organizers, because the more people there are in the virtual universes, the more it will be necessary to organize what happens in them. And finally the observers, that is the analysts, those who will archive, interpret and comment on what happens in these worlds.
